Analyzing the Resilience of Transportation Networks

Transportation systems are the backbone of life in cities around the world. Owing to their ability to move people and goods; efficient, undisrupted transportation systems are crucial for the smooth functioning of cities, countries, and economies. However, transportation systems are vulnerable to disruptions due to natural disasters or man-made events. The objective of this research is to model transportation networks, analyze their resilience, quantify the transportation network resilience in the form of indices, and develop strategies to improve the resilience of transportation networks.
